The “Rosy Clouds” is part of the “Starry Sky” series: Christopher Nolan, in “Interstellar,” cites British poet Dylan Thomas’s iconic work “Do Not Go Gentle into That Good Night” to articulate his aspirations for humanity, facing extinction, and the withering fate of our blue planet: “Do not go gentle into that good night, old age should burn and rave at close of day; Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
The author reflects on the transient nature of day and night, life and death, asserting that nothing lasts forever. Even the stars that shine for aeons eventually fade into darkness. Despite humanity’s insignificance in the vast cosmos, we possess the capacity for passion and tenacity. We can make our lives vibrant and fiery, even as we age and time becomes scarce. The author encourages a fighter’s stance, maintaining a fierce spirit until the end, in pursuit of a complete and authentic self.
